Select one from each category:

Beginner (1-12 months)
Affordable, flat shoes for new climbers building technique, strength, and movement skills.

Intermediate (1-2 years)
Slightly downturned shoes for climbers refining efficiency, strength, and problem-solving. Higher-quality materials improve performance.

Advanced (2+ years)
Expensive, highly downturned shoes designed for experienced climbers tackling hard grades and pushing limits.

These timeframes are rough estimates, and individual progression may vary; climbers should self-assess based on their personal development and experience.

Stiff
Offer better support for small edges and last longer but lack sensitivity.

Soft
Excel in smearing and provide high sensitivity but wear out faster.

If you are a beginner, stiff and more durable shoes are more useful; your footwork is not perfected, which will cause them to wear faster.

Narrow (3.3 - 3.8 inches / 84 - 98 mm)
Lower-volume shoes with a tighter heel cup and slimmer fit.

Wide (3.9 - 5.9 inches / 99 - 140 mm)
Higher-volume shoes with a roomier toe box and broader fit without excessive pressure points.

Egyptian
The big toe is the longest, with the other toes descending in length in a sloped pattern.

Roman
The first three toes are of roughly equal length, while the last two are shorter.

Greek
The second toe is longer than the big toe, with the rest of the toes gradually decreasing in length.

Most climbing shoes are designed to accommodate multiple toe box shapes.

High
Shoes priced above $180. Designed for advanced climbers and crafted with premium materials and cutting-edge technology.

Moderate
Shoes priced between $120 and $180. Suitable for intermediate climbers seeking a balance of performance and affordability.

Low
Shoes priced below $120. Best for beginners or climbers on a budget, offering functionality at a lower price point.

Prices vary depending on different retailers and regions.
