 The Daily Crimp (“we”, “us”, or “our“) operates thedailycrimp.com, a climbing-related blog that offers articles and a digital service called Senderella Lite/Senderella+. We are committed to user privacy and we do not collect personal data from you except as described below.

 In general, we do not collect any personal information simply by you browsing our site or using Senderella Lite. We do not require account registration to use the blog or the free Senderella Lite tool. We do not use analytics services or third-party trackers, and we do not serve advertisements. The only situations where you might provide personal data to us are:

  • Senderella+ Purchase Information: If you decide to purchase Senderella+ (the premium version of our shoe recommendation tool), you will be directed to our payment processor (Stripe) to complete the transaction. During this process, you may provide information like your name, email address, and payment details directly to Stripe. We do not receive or store your credit card number or financial account details. We may receive limited information from Stripe necessary to confirm your purchase (such as your name, email, transaction ID, and the fact that you purchased the service) so that we can activate your access to Senderella+. We use this information only to deliver the digital service you paid for and for our internal records (e.g. to keep track of active subscriptions or purchases). We do not use it for marketing or any other purpose.
  • Customer Support Communications: If you voluntarily contact us at crimpingdaily@gmail.com (for example, to ask a question or request support), we will receive whatever contact information you provide (such as your email address) and any other personal data you choose to include in your message. We will use this information only to respond to your inquiry and provide assistance. We will not use it for any other purpose without your consent.

Aside from the above, we do not collect personal data like your age, gender, location, or any identifiers when you simply use our website content or the Senderella Lite tool. The inputs you provide to the Senderella tools (such as your climbing preferences, shoe size, etc.) are processed in real-time to generate recommendations but are not stored on our servers in a way that identifies you. In some cases, those inputs may be temporarily stored in your own browser (via local storage or cookies) to make the service function, but they are not transmitted to us.

Cookies and Similar Technologies
 We use a minimal number of cookies on our site, strictly for functional purposes. We do not use any cookies for advertising or analytics. For detailed information, please see our Cookie Policy. In summary, the cookies we use may include:

We do not sell or rent any personal information, because we simply do not collect or store it beyond what’s needed to provide our service to you.

  • Service Providers: As noted, if you make a payment for Senderella+, your information is handled by Stripe for payment processing. Stripe is a third-party service provider that operates independently. They may have access to personal and payment information to process transactions. We have chosen Stripe for its strong security measures and compliance with data protection standards (PCI DSS). Stripe’s handling of your data is covered by their Privacy Policy and terms. Aside from payment processing, we do not employ other outside services that gather personal data. (Our website hosting provider may process technical data like IP addresses in server logs for delivery of the site, but this is standard for any web service and not used by us to identify you.)
  • Legal Requirements: We would only disclose user information if required to do so by law or lawful request (for instance, a court order or government demand), and even then, given our data practices, we typically would have little to provide. If we ever are compelled to disclose any personal data, we will only do so to the extent required and will inform you if legally permitted.

We do not sell, trade, or rent user information under any circumstances.

 Although we keep almost no personal data, we still take security seriously.
