Patrick Vonbrül has achieved a major milestone by completing the 8C/V15 boulder problem Le Boa in Ziegelbrücke. Originally established by Fred Nicole, Le Boa is known for its intricate and demanding nature. The climb begins with a sit start on a snake-like structure, lending it its name.
The problem starts with powerful moves on undercling pockets requiring strength and precision, followed by a tricky traverse and a finish with long reaches to a flake. The final section transitions into Mosaik, rated V11 (8A), adding complexity.
Patrick’s journey spanned over two years and 15 sessions. The climb’s difficulty is compounded by wet conditions, making autumn and spring ideal for attempts. This accomplishment showcases Patrick’s patience and perseverance, hallmarks of elite bouldering. With Le Boa behind him, he looks forward to new challenges, fatherhood, and winter projects in Tessin.
