Michaela Kiersch completes Dreamtime 8C/V15

Michaela Kiersch has completed the legendary boulder problem Dreamtime, graded 8C, in Cresciano. Originally established by Fred Nicole, Dreamtime is considered a benchmark in the world of bouldering for its difficulty and technical demands. This ascent marks yet another milestone for Michaela, adding to her already impressive record of challenging sends, as she has now climbed 17 boulders at 8B or harder and tackled a wide array of elite routes rated 8c+ and above. Her rapid progression in the sport has been extraordinary, with most of her toughest climbs accomplished in just the past couple of years.

Dreamtime challenges climbers with a series of powerful, technical moves that require exceptional finger strength, precision, and control. The line includes complex sequences that test a climber’s ability to hold tension on small holds and execute dynamic movements under intense physical demands. Michaela approached this problem with determination and focus, building her left hand’s strength after a finger fracture and reaching what she described as her peak bouldering condition. After a rain-hampered start, Michaela was able to work through Dreamtime’s intricate moves over multiple sessions, finally conquering the iconic line.

In the summer of 2024, Michaela Kiersch traveled to South Africa to climb on the legendary boulders of Rocklands.

Her success on Dreamtime is a testament to her strength, talent, and relentless commitment to improvement, further solidifying her as one of the most formidable climbers in the sport today.
